LPD treatment relies on proper differentiation of the condition and we provide three patterns with treatments with acupuncture and Chinese herbs. Luteal phase deficiency (or defect) can prevent pregnancy despite an embryo forming because either:
- The length of the luteal phase is too short for successful implantation
- The level of progesterone in the blood is too low for successful implantation
- The required changes to the endometrial lining aren’t timed to the embryo’s arrival
The womb needs to support implantation and the development of the embryo, which depends on the depth and quality of the endometrium and the arrival of the embryo in the ‘window of implantation’. It’s worth noting that as aspirin is a blood thinner it can affect the chances of implantation.
